Slovenia announces a free four-month extension for annual e-vignettes

All annual e-vignettes that are still valid on 1 December 2025 will be automatically extended by four months.

No action required: DARS will extend the validity automatically.

Not affected: weekly, monthly and half-year vignettes.

Example: vignette valid until 4 February 2026 → now valid until 4 June 2026.
Why has the extension been introduced?
Last year, there were an unusually high number of roadworks on Slovenian motorways. As compensation, the government is now extending certain annual e-vignettes by four months free of charge.
Who benefits from it?
All annual e-vignettes that are still valid on the key date of 1 December 2025 are affected.
This means: if your vignette expires on or after 1 December 2025, it will be extended automatically. Vignettes that expired before this date are not covered by the measure.
The extension applies to all toll categories:

What do you need to do?
You do not need to take any further action. The extension of your annual e-vignette will be activated automatically by DARS.

Good news: if your annual e-vignette is valid on the key date, you will receive an extra four months – automatically and at no cost. Short-term or expired vignettes are not eligible. It’s worth checking the online verification tool.
