Toll in Lithuania: Prices, payment methods and exemptions
There is no classic car toll in Lithuania. Tolls are only charged on the Curonian Spit and for commercial vehicles and buses. In addition, charges are levied for the use of the A1 to A20 motorways.

Neringa (Curonian Spit)
An environmental tax is required for all vehicles travelling on the Curonian Spit. The fees vary depending on the type of vehicle and the time of travel:

Different vehicle categories
There are different categories of vehicles in Lithuania, including lorries, which are differentiated according to their weight. For buses, on the other hand, the number of seats is decisive. However, the toll only applies to vehicles with more than eight seats (plus driver).

Toll and payment
Toll charge
The amount of the fees varies depending on the vehicle category and the selected period: daily, weekly, monthly or annual fees are possible. You can find more detailed information on the corresponding fee rates on the website of the Lithuanian Road Traffic Authority.
Payment
The toll can be paid directly at the Alksnynė or Nida checkpoints. You can pay on site using a bank card. Alternatively, you can also use the uniPark online service or the corresponding app.
Does Lithuania have a vignette?
On Lithuanian motorways, commercial vehicles in vehicle classes N1-N3 and buses in classes M2-M3 require an electronic vignette, which is available online and at sales outlets for various periods of validity. Cars and campervans, on the other hand, are not subject to the vignette requirement. You can find more information and purchase vignettes on the website of the Lithuanian toll authority.
How is the toll controlled in Lithuania?
In Lithuania, toll enforcement is mainly carried out using electronic systems. Cameras and registration systems are installed on the motorways, which record the number plates and automatically check whether a valid vignette is present for the respective vehicle.
Fines
If you are caught travelling on a toll road without a valid vignette, you can expect to pay a heavy fine. The exact amount depends on various factors, such as the type of vehicle and the duration of the journey without a vignette.
Who is exempt from a vignette?
In Lithuania, certain vehicles are exempt from the toll. These include:
- Vehicles of the military and police service
- Vehicles for the transportation of people with disabilities
- Vehicles that are exclusively powered by electricity
